Thursday night. Have spent last 2 days in the Adirondacs Park which is in upstate NY. Our first taste of the autumn colours. Locals have been saying that they are a bit disappointing this autumn because of all the rain they have been having. However, it is all very beautiful to us, as we have driven through some great scenery of lakes, surrounded by pines and trees of autumn colours.
Tuesday night stayed in a log cabin on the banks of Lake George, and had the best ribs for dinner. Allison has fallen in love with the corn cakes and we are both eating far too much. Yet to find any good coffee and would kill for a glass of full cream milk.
Spent last night on the edge of Lake Ontario to the West and saw the sunset into the lake, had a drink with a couple of locals (Jim and Tyler) Tyler was a hunter that Allison tried to convince that he should change his whole lifestyle, I think he thought she was a bloody dill but it was all good fun.Headed off to the local pub for 'wing' night, had about 50 different flavoured chicken wings. Again walked home another night completely full from over eating.
Evie - As we drive along we are seeing lots of houses getting ready for Halloween, you would love them, we will try to get some pictures of the good ones for you.
Headed East today and spent the day in Lake Placid home of the Winter Olympics in 1932 and 1980. Beautiful spot decided to stay the night. Temp has dropped below 0 but beautiful spot with a magnificent lake called Mirror Lake.
Heading further East tomorrow into Vermont.Hoping to get some more Autumn foliage.
